Meet Manuel Agas III

Manuel Agas

Resident Physiotherapist

Manuel’s path into healthcare began with childhood dreams of becoming a doctor, inspired by his parents who both work in the medical field. He discovered his passion for helping people get better and stronger through their guidance. Manuel earned his physiotherapy degree from the University of the East, Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center, Inc. in the Philippines, where he completed a comprehensive five-year program.

Discovering His True Calling

During his fourth and fifth years of college, Manuel had a revelation while working with patients. He realized that, unlike becoming a doctor, where interactions are brief, physiotherapy offered something different: the opportunity to be fully present throughout each patient’s complete healing process. This realization showed him that physiotherapy would allow him to create meaningful connections and lasting relationships with those he treats.

Path to Canada

When Manuel’s father asked him whether he wanted to continue in medicine or move to Canada, his answer was clear: “I wanted to pursue physiotherapy and advance my career as a physiotherapist.” Determined to follow this path, Manuel made the bold decision to move to Canada.

He initially enrolled in Humber College’s Fitness and Health Promotion program—the closest available option to physiotherapy for international students during COVID-19. After completing this program with flying colors, he worked in different fields while preparing for permanent residency and the rigorous process of becoming a registered physiotherapist in Canada.

His dedication paid off when he passed his physiotherapy licensing exam in March 2025.

Joining the Practice Team and Personal Interests

What drew Manuel to Core Health Care was the patient-centered approach and diverse team of practitioners. He was impressed by how the clinic treats each patient’s healing process with care, creating a family-like atmosphere rather than just a clinical experience.

When he’s not working with patients, Manuel enjoys going to the gym, playing basketball, reading self-development books, and spending time with friends. His current favourites include Atomic Habits, Ikigai, and Mastering the Art of Conversation.
